Family Holiday
Beach Bay Cottage is perfect for family activity holidays, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained, from great beaches to exciting days out. Uig is a wonderful place to share family adventures and create happy life long memories.
Look out for Eagles, Buzzards and Red Deer on your travels throughout Uig and the islands! There are also Highland Cattle, Hebridean Sheep, Black Face sheep grazing the hills and moors, in spring look out for lambs!
Beach Bay Cottage is everything we were hoping for:
We had a fabulous week at Beach Bay cottage. It was our first visit to Lewis and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. That view is just incredible and will always stay with us!
Lots of space for a family of 4 to spread out and relax. We experienced good old Scottish weather – 4 seasons in one day! Despite that we were able to explore the island and completely relax. Ideal for anyone that loves water sports – paddle boards, kayaks etc a must, to take advantage of the location.
Romantic Breaks
Beach Bay Cottage and the surrounding area offer the perfect experience for those looking for a secluded, relaxing and luxurious romantic break. Perfect for honeymoons, anniversary’s or just for a getaway! The cottage has been designed to cater for couples looking for the ultimate in 5-star luxury. We’ve incorporated King size beds with 400 thread Egyptian cotton sheets, a jacuzzi bath, sauna and log burning stove, creating a cosy interior with underflow heating.
An amazing stay
We had such an amazing stay last week at the stunning Beach Bay cottage. This unusual design and cosy home has the most beautiful view which you can’t keep your eye from and it is nicely furnished.
We were lucky enough to see a stag & his family on the hill from behind the cottage, the sheep become our friendly neighbours & to top our visit we were able to admire the magnificent couple of sea eagles and golden eagles flying around the cottage regularly – it was amazing.
On the Doorstep
There are many scenic walks on the pristine white beaches and in the moorland hills, just a stone’s throw from the front door where you’re virtually guaranteed to be alone for many miles. The cottage is very quiet and tranquil for the perfect relaxing time, although for those looking for something more energetic, there’s plenty of outdoor activities to be had. Why not go for a late night walk on the beach, take a trip out around the islands on a privately rented boat or even take a day trip to St Kilda.
Lessons in Relaxation
Finish the day by using the facilities provided and snuggle up in front of the log fire with a glass of your favourite tipple. You’ll be able to enjoy the ever-changing seascape out of the 180-degree bay window.
In the summer months enjoy long evenings, with the extended daylight you get in the Hebrides, you can see the tides turn right up until midnight, exposing the pure white sands of Uig Bay. In the winter months, you’ll be able to see the pitch black starry sky and even the North Lights if the conditions are right! In summer take a midnight stroll along the deserted beach, whilst a full moon on a clear winter evening is magical, throwing a silver light across the bay. Look out for shooting stars, with little to no light pollution you can see the heavens lit up and stargazing becomes a romantic space adventure.
The setting is just magical.
We had a fabulous week at Beach Bay Cottage! The house is beautiful; the photos don’t really do it justice. It’s all the little things that really make it – the full length windows in the bedroom, angled perfectly so your can lie in bed and look over the bay, the beautifully crafted wooden doors, the eco roof lights in the bathroom (I kept thinking I’d left the lights on!), the perfectly stocked kitchen (the Harris tweed tea-cosy!) and of course, the view. The setting is just magical. I could (and did) lose myself for hours just watching the tide coming and going and the ever-changing light and skies.
